1.) Title: Healthcare Columnist

2.) The healthcare columnist is writer who works part or full time in the healthcare industry and is interested in sharing anecdotes about their experiences. The columnist must have a job that involves patient interaction.

The healthcare columnist should have a deep understanding of HIPPA, as they will be asked to review patient interactions they’ve had and share them with the general public. 

An ideal candidate will have had at least a year of experience in the healthcare industry, be part of a larger inter professional team, and have compelling writing skills. The goal of the job is to expand our reader’s understanding of what it is like to be in the healthcare industry, today. 

The columnist would be an independent contractor for (the name of the magazine) but would be supervised, and subject to revision from and by the editor of the magazine.

3.) The tasks of this job include: 

-write a 600 word column weekly, and have it turned in by Wednesday for review.

-being able to utilize editor’s comments and review to improve the work— benefit from constructive criticism.

-being able to work remotely.

4.) Qualifications:

-basic KSA’s

-good communication skills

-the ability to work independently as part of a larger team

-the ability to balance writing the column and working in healthcare 

-compelling writing skills, a notable personal voice that shines through the writing.
